evergreens have all but died
flowers withered long ago
and the ground is covered
in crooked paths
with no oasis for relief

the water which once nourished them
has left without a trace
and no wells are deep enough
to draw it back again

This reminds me of a freestyle rap. I really like the flow, the coherent subject, and the word choices conveying chosen subject. Very nice :3.

That is too cute lol. I was trying to recall a poem I did while in elementary school that was published. It was about dinosaurs... but then it morphed into a Barney song XD.

This made me think of the visual nature it could be. I really like how this turned out. It randomly makes me think of the excitement of creating a new story and getting to know the characters and the world they reside.

When I was reading these, I liked the way they made me feel inside. There seems to be this theme between all of them that speaks of loving with responsibility, like a knight sworn to his duty to his king.

I grew up reading a lot of Regency themed of romance literature, from Jane Austen to Jo Beverley. I’m still trying to delve deep into my memory to recall the title of this one Harlequin romance I read eons ago about a woman who takes care of a baby after the mother, her roommate, passes away and her trying to assist in helping the roommate’s brother transition care for the baby.

I associate a lot of fond memories with romance literature. My mom noticed that I loved reading and we didn’t really have many books, so she would talk to other people and they would point out others who were selling books for cheap. One day, one of her friends told her a thrift store was getting rid of 30 something books that were about romance and murder mystery. When she gave them to me, I remember being happy, but then also realizing after the first couple of chapters that this was not age appropriate material for me XD. So I read all of these romance novels and was grateful for my mom taking interest in bringing me things to read.

I really did like reading your writing. I think for sure you have the heart of a romance writer, based on these poems I read. I hope you continue with your writing and would love to see what you’ve created when you’re ready to share it. :3 <3
