17% of Irish-born live overseas; 20% of Irish population foreign-born. A lot of those foreign-born would be from the EU though. Ireland has a huge diaspora and should really try to attract some of these people back.

A good friend of mine (an ex-forum member) Irish-Scot who was raised in Glasgow married his Irish American wife some years ago and they moved back to Ireland. They now already have a host of kids as well.
