    Very true. Double-edged sword indeed.

I would advice seeking professional help, dealing with things, praying (feeding spiritual side) and really focusing on good sleep. Our brain deals with all kind of stuff while we sleep so getting into deep sleep is very essential, just like surrounding yourself with positive things, people and mindset. So many things. Life can get very tricky.
Just temporary remedy with risky consequences. I'm for self discipline in this case and shutting down emotions.

This is naive as once you fall ill with depression you start losing your hobbies / goals & passions - so it's hardly a remedy, but it is definitely much better if you have people around you who care about you. There are plenty of people who are in a stable financial situation, free of some other diseases who still get depression.

If you suspect that you might have it you need to visit a psychiatrist.

As for home remedies, I recommend drinking St. John's wort tea, bitter chocolate and contact with nature / pets.

People who reply on people are usually family than friends, friends is just ''social'' catchup. Even family care about you and want to make sure you're okay, but depressed people usually not talk about their feeling and keep the feeling to themselves.

They sometimes talk, and when they do then these people often turn their back on you, freeze you out, move away from you and leave you even more alone. I have experienced it myself and there are many others who can vouch for it. People subconsciously move away from those with depression.
