Listen. If i were an OWD, i would say that i am fully Western and nobody would know the reality. My mother is already an Aegean local, my paternal grandfather came here around 50 years ago so my father is raised in West of Turkey as well. Culturally, i am Western. Genetically, i am half Western half Eastern. How tf should i call myself to satisfy you? MENA? No way. If my father side came from Southeastern side, probably i would be half MENA. He came from Northeastern side so no way.

Mhm I know you're proud of who you are and identify with reality. However, I'm not sure what makes me MENA but a Western Turk or a Northeastern one not. We could throw the MENA label under the bus as it's a very shitty term, but the way Turks try to distance themselves from genetically not too far populations, is hella cringy.

And we are Upper Mesopotamians geographically, I don't feel offended if someone calls me a MENA. It's supposed to encompass the whole region, although we are a very diverse group. Turks are not too far off to Assyrians though, so trying to portray us as something alien is laughable.
