I would say that's a pretty dubious claim, there has never been consensus about religious anthropology and most credible modern studies have found that all religions developed sententiously from the same formulas. Literally every pagan culture in existence has a god of thunder of Japanese culture Raijin to Tlaloc to the Aztecs, Shala for the Sumerians, Mulungu for the Bantu etc etc. Anthropology seldom has absolutes.

Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.

Even if this were hard--that is how it is ! Assuredly, however, by far the harder fate is that which strikes the man who thinks he can overcome Nature, but in the last analysis only mocks her. Distress, misfortune, and diseases are her answer.

There is no major similarity between Raijin and Thor besides both being thunder gods.

See what I mean. Thunder is often associated with violence, change and war.
Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.

    hephaestus
Hephaestus isn't cognate with Thor and Perun, Hercules is, Hephaestus with gaulish Gobannos and Germanic Volundr/Weyland the smith who was a god but demoted to a mortal in later myths
