Thor and Donar come from PIE sten "to thunder".

I would say that's a pretty dubious claim, there has never been consensus about religious anthropology and most credible modern studies have found that all religions developed sententiously from the same formulas. Literally every pagan culture in existence has a god of thunder of Japanese culture Raijin to Tlaloc to the Aztecs, Shala for the Sumerians, Mulungu for the Bantu etc etc. Anthropology seldom has absolutes.
