Transparency International's Corruption Perception Index 2018 for EU countries

Denmark is still ranked as the least corrupt country both in the EU and the entire world. Also of note is how Belgium is year after year ranked as quite corrupt by Northern European standards (something to do with the EU institutions, ironically?) Ireland and Austria are also. Although the gaps are narrowing, there are still clear geographical divides in this problem - North/South and West/East.

Not really. Who says that money hasn't changed hands for a good ranking ? It wouldn't surprise me if TI is a shakedown scam: if you don't give us money, We'll give you a bad ranking because we can.
