Caucasus Africans are still a thing. I haven't seen them myself, they live in just few villages up in the mountains. But as far as I'm aware they haven't disappeared yet.

The ancestry of Lipka Tatars is irrelevant as the question was can features from centuries old ancestry affect general phenotype of a person today. My answer is yes.

For example at Caucasus there are few villages with people of fully black African phenotype. Nobody knows for sure when exactly they got there, latest estimates places their arrival at 17th century but could be even earlier. Many of these people look like they just came from Africa.

Another example are Tatars in Poland and Lithuania. They live there for a few centuries already and mostly absorbed. Yet their original phenotype keeps showing in people even today. One notable example of it were Asiatic features of Charles Bronson who was Lithuanian with some Lipka Tatar admix.

So yes, centuries old ancestry could have generalized effect on someone's phenotype. Especially if these features are associated with dominant genes.

This shit happens because there were big numbers of them and they were probably segregated to some extent. Hardly Italian ancestry from the Middle Ages would show in an aleatory German, there's no documented migration of Italians to Germany.

Group ancestry from centuries usually show up in a population's general phenotype, isolated individual ancestries hardly would manifest. If this guy has 'Italian' ancestry from the Middle Ages it hardly would be more than 1-2% of his DNA.
