U.S. Southerners are more patriotic than Yankees...

Not sure if I consider Louisiana really the South. I mean, I know it's way down there. It is kind of a different culture, entirely, though. Especially New Orleans. Regardless, go Up South to Virginia, Kentucky, Carolinas, etc.
Plenty of fall and winter there. The fall comes later. It's really nice. Here we only have winter in January and February, which can be snowy at times. But after Valentine's Day, we are really done with it.

Do you consider Northeastern Tennessee and Southwestern Virginia to be part of the South? I'm talking about the extremes of those states. The citizens are technical Southerners, but they're a different breed. One county even stayed in the Union during the Civil War!

I've heard people say Southerners are not real Americans. Some are even called "traitors" because of the War of Northern Aggression. In reality, the South is the most patriotic American loving part of the country. Southern Americans are far more involved and active in military duty and service. More likely to fly the American flag (alongside the Confederate Battle Flag). More love of God and Country is found from Southerners than the Yankee North which claims they were the "good guys" during the War Between The States . Most Southerners can trace their family roots deep in the South in Colonial Virginia and the Carolinas, Georgia, etc. Many of them are descended from Confederate Veterans and many of them are more likely to say they love America and love being an American. They are more influenced by the philosophies of Jefferson, Washington, and Monroe. For those who say Southerners aren't real Americans, nothing could be further from the truth. It is in the Northern states where people are least likely to have Patriotic fervor.

I consider NE Tennessee and SW Virginia to be Southern , but just not Deep South and they sure as hell aren’t Yankees. There is The South and multitudes of micro-Souths within The South. There are class differences in the rural South that are not based on wealth but upon culture and values.

America is not a real country it is just a business. Patriotic ? The US government will churn out Southern hillbillies soldiers at the cheapest price possible. Fancy gym equipment and high quality meals ? Nah, calisthenics and shit on a shingle then MREs in a third world shithole.

I tend to agree.We're like Highlanders and Lowlanders in Tennessee and Virginia. I think that there are varied parts of the same whole, each distinct from the other. Some people think of the South as a mean girls' table in a junior high school where some parts aren't welcome to share their lunch.

I don't see how people could even question that area. It's more a problem when you get into DC, Maryland, Upper West VA etc.
