    Yes, although he doesn't sound like the typical modern refined Australian accent.

    Robert Menzies was another like Fraser.

    To be fair most Australians sound kinda British, at least to my unaccustomed ear that is initially not set to spot the difference. My initial response to the Australian accent is often "oh it sounds British". Obviously there are some that sound more British and some who less and I guess this is what you mean.

    Well many better-educated Aussies do sound quasi-British, in a way that's very rare for Americans for example.
