Communism or democracy, the both depend on how the population and government go about it. Either one would have worked for China. Theyre a bunch of smart and hardworking people.

Not all Chinese goods are low-tier. There are even factories that have seperate production lines for shoddy products and those that are sound & not extremely cheap so they fill both niches. But because we're literally flooded by questionable products Made In China that are imported en masse by wholesalers - that is the case why we mostly remember those.
