I am of Croat, North Macedonian (pro-Serbian oriented, classify them as you wish), and German descent. I see all of ex-Yugoslavia people essentially the same (with exception of Slovenia). I feel connection to Serbia because I live here, its impossible not to feel the connection to the country you live in.

Yeah yeah, we know.
But you could of easily been Bulgarian today if not for the unfortunate things that happened in the past and non implementation of San Stefano treaty.
Still, you have more than a whiff but you can continue liyng to yourself that you don't if you feel so.

thats true.
also Europe feels like sad, dead continent, while countries like China and India and most of SEA and East Africa are active, aggressive and working hard to make their country great again, people here are happy, optimistic and workaholics while people in Europe are sad, moral-less and lazy.
China will have economy of over 850 trillion by 2050 while us will only have GDP of 50 to 70 trillion according to most of estimates so even American clout that Europeans have enjoyed is almost over. to me it seems that age of European domination of 400 to 200 years is over now and countries that dominated world for the most of the times are again raising up to take their places.
america being only notable exception if it will survive till 2100.

only way to have somewhat influence on global stage for west is to normalize ties with China and use India as counterbalance China.
