Why is middle-aged considered something bad?

Middle aged means a person is neither young, nor old. This is the best of both worlds. They have enough life experience to know better at most things, and are still young enough to enjoy it. Officially, mid life is now reported to start around the age of 45. Depending on the individual, old age is believed to officially start one a person is over 65 or thereabouts.

The numbers are always off. 50 is middle-aged. But a lot of people die at 60.

30 is more like middle-aged.

I think people look at it bad, because in the West, most people are still single, working at Mc Donald's or Walmart, and still paying off their college debt and car loans when they are middle-aged.

I am happy and have a Wife and a truckload of kids. But we are poor.

Either way middle ages > middle aged.

Aging gracefully is something frowned upon in modern times. People fight against time and live lives of perpetual adolescence. I plan to buck the trend.

So.. middle aged is the time we're supposed to be buckle down and become real adults.

as long as you're alive, not in jail or kept a prisoner and in good health, it should be ok at any age

I'm not even middle aged yet but I've been behaving like a responsible adult for a long time. Having kids means you can't live in perpetual adolescence even if you wanted to.

That’s the way it should be. But nowadays too many people pop out kids and refuse to give up a suitable number of frivolities, ending up being terrible parents.
