Cool Why Starbucks Failed In Australia

Starbucks can be found all over the world, from Shanghai to Guantanamo Bay. But there is one continent that was uninterested in the coffee giant. Australians largely rejected Starbucks' attempted takeover, which led to an embarrassing retreat for the brand.

Wake up and smell the coffee.

Urgh ! I consider their very presence to be a blight. We should chase the whole mother-loving bunch out of the Netherlands and, preferably, out of the whole of Western Europe.

Wake up and smell the coffee.

Their coffee isn't bad but we just have better coffee, they never really explained why 'Gloria Jeans' is so popular here, I don't think it has anything to do with their menu. Small-owned business cafes just make better coffee in my opinion.

It's funny they mentioned Italian and Greek immigrants, most of the migrant families including mine started their own cafes or milk bars when they first came to Australia in the 1930s/1940s. My Greek grandparents claim that Australians ate very bland food/coffee before the Wogs came.
