Why McDonald’s Flopped In Vietnam

Fuck McDonalds ! Give me silog (of any kind) or some tsampurado or bulalo (when it's a bit colder) and a good strong cup of kapeng barako (coffee - but stronger - more of the espresso variant) and I am ready to start the day.

I ate street food in India all the time and never once got sick. Hotel food on the other hand...

I remember buying street food for the first time in El Nido and got a very bad case of Delhi belly but haven't had any problems since.

Like what? It's hard to trust much of anything in third world countries, but at least there's some oversight with an international franchise.

If pricing isn't in line with local restaurants it won't large scale. I like breakfast fast food but not much else. McDonalds invented the egg mcmuffin breakfast sandwich, it isn't bad.

Good for them. Doesn't seem like it's a country that will be suffering from high obesity rates in the near future. Fast food consumption is destroying the aesthetics of a lot of people in developed AND developing countries. A lot of my friends in Brazil are becoming huge fatsos because of fast food consumption and other crappy eating choices they make. I could notice the difference between now and 6 years ago when I had first left the country. Depressing, really.

I myself avoid fast food like a plague. Haven't stepped my foot in McDonalds or Burger King for over a year now. Don't regret it.

I am not going there either. The last time I went to anything which would be deemed fastfood here was to a sandwich store for a quick pick me up. And, oh yes, a herring sandwich from a cart is technically fast food as well.
