Napoleon's Invasion of Russia documentary

I watched this documentary about Napoleon's invasion of Russia in 1812. It is interesting what they said about captives. Apparently out of over 150,000 Grande Armee captives that the Russians took during the campaign, many stayed in Russia and settled there as simple serfs/peasants, new Tsar's subjects:

I didn't know those were Polish troops who established the first bridgehead over Berezina river, until watching this documentary!

Interesting, I've only heard of the other side of the story: the stragglers being slaughtered by Russian peasants.
