Careful with watchseries. If you think TA of olds popups were bad, this takes it to another level. But at least you don't need subscriptions to every service.

Music wise, a server with 7k albums ripped bit perfect in uncompressed flac, sometimes spotify and when I'm feeling dirty, YT.

I also pay for netflix but feel I've clocked it.

I agree, much of it is 480p. Soundwise, it is a mixed bag. TV isn't life and 5.1 Dolby is old hat.

You watch an episode and 99.99% of everything screened is forgettable. Why pay for that "privilege"?

Netflix.

My favourite TV series to debute in 2017 was a Netflix original called Dark (the German one, there are two Darks!). Soon season 2 will appear. I was blown away and its theme song as well as the rest of the soundtrack is mesmerizing. It's a sci-fi / drama.
