I have no idea. They have probably always seen us as monarchs have traditionally seen the people: something to be lorded over. In other words: scrap the monarchy. I may not like Prime Minister Rutte at all but he can fulfil the basic functions any monarch can.

Dutch monarchy looks very friendly. But it is very strange that they don’t have Dutch blood at all. How much are Dutch people and Germans the same? I know that Dutch language is from Germanic language of ancient Germanic Batavi tribe. But they came to Holland about 2000 years ago..

Well in fairness, they aren't alone in this respect. Before World War One, the Windsors were in fact the Sachs-Coburgs, who only changed their surname to appear more patriotic and avoid the unfortunate implications at the time of having a German surname.

It's the same with our monarchy:

Louis Napoleon (House Bonaparte) - a peculiar individual with good ideas who wasted a lot of money but who created some of the first national institutions.
Willem I (House of Orange-Nassau) was an outstanding monarch (although he f.... up the whole Belgian affair)
Willem II was half-way decent (he was a good soldier, not a brilliant administrator but at least he became a constitutional monarch)
Willem III was terrible.
Wilhelmina fled to the UK in 1940 together with the government in direct violation of the constitution (article repealed in 1983),
Juliana was half-way decent but not much use,
Beatrix ? I'll think we should leave that one to 21th century historians but this whole Bilderberg thing stinks.
Willem-Alexander (who even refused the title of Willem IV) .. not much going on there


The Stadtholders:

Willem de Zwijger (William the Silent) ? Some men call him a hero, some men condemn him for his actions in the South.
Maurice ? A brilliant general (that's for sure) but a terrible politician and his policies in the South leave much to be desired for.
Willem II - godawful. Tried to stage a coup d'etat but thankfully died soon after.
Willem III - a bit like Maurice. With him the Golden Age certainly came to an end.
Willem IV - that was a right ineffectual nightmare.
Willem V - could it be any worse ? he went to war with the French Republic and got seen off. Fled to England and left us to the invader. He pulled a Wilhelmina on us before it was cool.

I'd say we're kinfolk but, like you, I do find it strange that Dutch monarchs never married Dutch brides or grooms. This goes as far back as the Stadholderate: William the Silent's first wife was Dutch - the others German and French,
Maurice never married but had illegitimate children. All his consorts had been Dutch,
Frederick-Henry (I forgot him.. how stupid of me: he was a brilliant general and a fine politician !) married a German noblewoman
William II - English
William III - English
William IV - German (a daughter of the first Hanoverian King of Britain)
William V - German

Kings:
William I - German - second wife: Belgian Walloon (by then he had already abdicated)
William II - Russian but of German descent
William III both first and second wife: German
Wilhelmina - German
Juliana - German
Beatrix - German
Willem-Alexander - Argentinian of Basque descent.

Atleast if he was attractive lol, big bald head, probably as others said she is going only for the BBC.

It is obvious and probably ... probably us men here should not judge her considering the fact that we can not imagine the crazy pleasure he might be giving her multiple times a day.
