We had robotic assembly for many decades now, give me something else.

Migration is a complicated subject. It has to occur, otherwise the native population gets complacent. Migration is a good disruptor, in all regards. At the same time, migration has to be limited, so that it doesn't put so much pressure that it collapses the whole system. Migrants have to be pressured too, so that they assimilate.

In regards to surveillance, the amount that occurs in the so called democratic countries already puts to shame the former Eastern European communist regimes. What's happening in China is a nightmare - the citizens are reduced to walking id cards with a social score attached to them.
I actually want to completely curtail migration (let the people be safe in their own national home - their country) and scrapping minimum wage in favour of a basic income.

I think that would work there, but here in the US, too many people would sit on their ass and not work. Heck, too many people do that already with welfare.

No cash? No problem. A trip to Shenzhen, China highlights how the explosive growth of mobile payments is driving a wallet-free society. WSJ's Jason Bellini reports.

I don't blame them. Particularly not in the current climate of increasingly extreme political repression.

This has both upside and downside. AI with CCTV cameras solved child kidnap case before it was too late (in most countries, even in the West it would've been just another missing girl), in about 15 hours since the moment it was reported.
