African Christians ? Those would have been the ancestors of the modern Algerians and Moroccans. Subsaharan Africa wouldn't be nominally Christian until the 19th, sometimes early to mid 20sth century. That, of course, only excludes Ethiopia.

It's ridiculous to jam these people into traditionally Chritian nations with these leftovers that owe their "Christianity" to European colonists. How much of their devotion to Christ is legitemate vs some weird colonial Stockholm syndrome. Look at Santeria or the fact that every Haitian holds more stock in their belief in voodoo than the Pope, in spite of Haiti being at least nominally Catholic. Oh yeah, these are truly the people that would make a better flock of believers than European Christians.
