You can hate North Korea for a lot of reasons, but actually it is a safe and isolated place where non ethnic koreans will never put their boots. If South Korea goes like France, then North Korea will keep the ethny alive. In countryside areas of South Korea, a lot of men have married vietnamese women as well.

This is true; it really depends on how long North Korea holds on. I can see democracy being introduced to North Korea within the next 20 years; I doubt there'd be unification ever though, it would be economically impossible. Even East Germany is still behind West Germany, and East Germany was wealthy. The difference between North Korea and South Korea is staggering.

Well even today, in both Japan and South Korea the percentage of foreigners barely exceeds 2%, however much globalisation might be changing things.

Well I know Guangzhou has a large Black African population. However, to argue that East Asian cities (never mind the countryside) have anything like the ethnic diversity of many contemporary Western cities is preposterous.

N.B. The one real exception is Singapore, but I thought we were mostly talking about NE Asia here.
