What happend to RnB?

I don't think that this genre was very imaginative anyway, most songs sounded extremely similar to each other and nowadays sound unpleasantly dated to me. Some tracks of Aaliyah and older/classic R'n'B still sound awesome though.

Even certain bands like Tristania that was involved in writing songs belonging to a different genre that is ... Gothic (as in actually Gothic!) Gothic Metal that might seem quite limiting and quickly depleting itself was able to bring much more diversity in their song-writing and conferring various zests to it more than what I have ever come cross from r'n'b.
