Actually - the whole idea of social mobility is bullshit. Even after 200 years of "democratic reforms", the basic foundation of society is still very much the same. It's a nice lie that both the Left ("look at what we have done for you - we have lifted people out of the lower class") and the Right ("pull yourselves up by your bootstraps") have been telling us in order to make sure that we're not going to start chopping off heads today (not that it would help much) and mind you: capitalism or communism ? It doesn't make any difference at all: the same creeps in the bureaucratic classes who ran Czarist Russia or Imperial China, ran the USSR or Maoist China and the very same creeps still run it today. Be it China, Russia, Cuba, Sweden or the United States: it doesn't matter a damn - the same names of who those who were the lawyers and officials back in the old days, are still the lawyers and officials today.

In Dutch we have an expression that sums it up: "he that was born for 10 cents will never earn a quarter." (wie voor een dubbeltje geboren is, wordt nooit een kwartje).

Regular capitalism, without the emphasis on greed and tax evasion, is good enough for me.

Tax evasion should be punished severely. Both the perpetrators and the enablers.

I've heard that doing business is much easier in the US than for instance in Poland, our bureaucracy is bothersome. My father who runs a business has experienced it many times, there are still certain things that take 30 minutes there, here can last for weeks or months.

It's more convenient than in the past but still in certain areas esp. when you need to ask & consult with institutions like Polish conservatorship or when it comes to stocktaking activities on commision, yikes. But it is too much of a topic to start.

I think that probably depends on the State you're doing business in. It seems to be rather difficult for foreign companies to be approved and U.S systems and international standards also rarely mix.

Because in the US, more than in most countries, there exists a strong and often contradictory current of protectionist-nationalism on the one hand, and free-market libertarianism on the other.

Well if Nokia and Ericsson decided not to sell their 5g tech to USA (of course this would be idiotic business decision, but let's hypothesize), current USA would not have a single company that could build 5g groundwork to that country. Since 5g is the most important tech thingie atm, this would mean USA would start to lack technologically pretty darn fast. Of course for example Intel is important component provider to both Nokia and Ericcson, so this is sort of a symbiotic relationship. But the fact still is that USA is uncabable atm to build it's own 5g Network, which is quite frankly a bit embarassing for a country that boasts itself as a superpower (Trump himself admits this). This also reflects to the China-USA tradewar which could also be called as a tech-war.

I would say that Europe is business wise failure. EU does not have culture of protectionism which allows American and Chinese companies to prosper. Especially companies that do not originate from Germany-France Axel have it pretty dire. This dynamic duo runs EU, so obviously companies from there are in bit better spot, but just a bit.

Anyway I still think there is itty bitty chance Nokia returns to it former glory

Uros is a quite new IoT startup which has grown very rapidly in last few years. It is still comparably small, but CEO Jerry Raatikainen and fans think it has potential to grow as big as Nokia was. We will see
