As a Brit with Croatian and Polish ancestry, I feel more related to White Americans than Balkan Slavs even due to Anglo sphere commonshare and the way of living and also living in London seem pretty much Americanisation.

Many Americans think that they have things in common with African Americans, but the reality is rather different. Take celestialsayer's case.

I personally see few cultural differences between white Midwesterners and Eastern Europeans (this does not hold so well for the other regions of the US). Also ancestry wise, the Midwest and Canada have about 10-15% 100% EE ancestry and possibly up to 30% of the people have some EE ancestry. EE churches are at every mile where I live.

The Blacks know our language. Share more a common history with them, since my people are from Colonial days. Would feel more at home with a group of American Blacks.
