Why Star Wars Failed In China

I've recently watched The Wandering Earth, a 2019 Chinese science fiction film. According to Wikipedia it was huge box office success in China. It became China's second highest-grossing film of all time.
The Wandering Earth IMO is a piece of shit. A stereotypical, pompous, overdramatized and laughable movie.

Apparently it's on Netflix now. I've heard nothing but bad reviews.

But I've always thought that Star Wars is a childish movie. If you want to watch a good scifi movie I sugest you try A Space Odissey.

George Lucas claims Star Wars was made with an eye towards children but I don't believe that was the case until he realized there was a huge profit to be made from the franchise through toys in the early 80s. As an adult the entire franchise from the first film to the last is corny at best.
