Romania was built on very different regions, it was after the 1862 annexation of Moldova and 1918 annexation of Transylvania and mostly after WW2 by the Communists that the country was leveled to a common identity, especially with displacing hundreds of thousands if not millions of people from one region to another, to mix them. of course Romanians now will say Romania is a unitary thing, and it probably became such, but they should bear in mind that this only happened a few decades ago, while first each region had its own specific language/dialect, faces and history as a separate political division, in a word a separate identity.
so I won't say Transylvania is historically Hungarian, but I'll say each region has the right to decide for itself and someday maybe Moldova and Transylvania will resume independence, once the effects of Romanian nationalist-communist propaganda are gone.
and then, most of the things Transylvanians brag about were built by Hungarians and Germans, and when you look at the demographics of the urban areas before the region was Romania's you'll see Romanians were a tiny minority in most towns if not all.
