I expected Australia to do much better than they actually did - earlier today betting agencies predicted them to have the second highest odds of winning the entire contest, behind the Netherlands. Not entirely sure where they finished in the end, but I can imagine it wasn't what they were hoping for.
Yeah it was a little too sweet, but that's a reoccurring theme in Danish entries. The runner-up last year was a little girl with a ukulele.
I just listened to Sweden's entry. It wasn't half bad.
    Spoiler!

On the one hand, I respect their bravery for standing up for what they believe in, but I just can't help but feel like this was an incredibly stupid move.
Oh I did expect it, that may be why most Nordic coutries, even Denmark surprisingly, withheld their higher marks from them. And it was dumb, but again Iceland's only been a country in its own right since 1944. Nordic people are often naive like that, Icelanders have no neighbors and haven't threatened nor heave been threatened by anyone. It's very easy to act high and mighty, even dressed like that, when that's the greater bulk of your history upon garnering full sovereignty.
