Sardinian by far, Italian is not comparable with Sardinian in matter of closeness with Latin.

    Latin:

Pater noster, qui es in caelis,
    sanctificetur nomen tuum.
    Adveniat regnum tuum.
    Fiat voluntas tua,
sicut in caelo, et in terra.
    Panem quotidianum da nobis hodie,
    et dimitte nobis debita nostra,
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
    sed libera nos a malo.
    Amen.

Sardinian (translation made on the fly, with the Sardinian we speak in this area)

Babbu nostru, qui ses in sos chelos,
E no nos lasses rùere in tentazione,
ma libera nos dae su male.
    Amen.

All Romance languages are very distant from Latin considering that Latin was still used in 5th century A.D. in original form.

Romance languages are a product of "barbarisation" Germanic, Slavic peoples contributed to it's destruction.

Italian for example is a joke of a language, amalgamation of several languages.

According to academics, Sardinian Latin split from Continental Latin around IInd century A.D. Remaining geographically isolated has kept more archaisms than Continental Latin, and avoided all the influences from Barbarian invasions. Only the Vandals managed to reach Sardinia occupying the ports for about 80 years, but leaving not a single trace in the language or a single building, not a single stone has been attributed to Vandals.

Sardinian and after that Italian. All existing Romance languages are very distant from Latin though.

What Latin are you talking about?

Latin evolved continuously. Classical Latin was different from Vulgar Latin, which evolved into Medieval Latin and the rest of Romance languages, and further changed into Ecclesiastical Latin.

Considering only standardized languages I have any relevant knowledge about:

Sardinian is undoubtedly the closer to latin.
Then, there would be a tie among Italian, French and Catalan.
    Spanish and Portuguese right after.
    I know nothing about Romanian
