Oh come on, after ~1500 years since that migration, our shared segments became too fragmented for GEDmatch to notice.

But studies show that there is still higher IBD sharing between Slavic countries than even between various regions of Italy:

Your average Novgorodian is literally more closely related to your average Slovene, than a Tuscan is to a Campanian, LOL.

You have a point there. I've seen many Slavic gedmatch kits that show admixture with Belarus, this even includes Slavovlachs from Greece!

I still seriously doubt it, the cimbri are in the literal heartland of the Germanic world

And those Slavic tribes who lived near Novgorod were even called Ilmen Slovenes (Il'menskiye Slovene in Russian).

But there are other similar examples.

Celtic enclave in the middle of Anatolia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galati...eople)#History

And some Celtic enclaves also existed for example in Italy as the map posted by the OP shows.

Did you notice "Lugi" in the north-eastern Scotland on the map? As part of Picts.

OP: I really like this map. I saved it. Sometimes I wish Europe was still along those lines, and the Romans had never come. They introduced most of the NA and other genetic flotsam and jetsam into Iberia. But what can we do? History only moves forward.
