I'm much more of a wood and brick-guy myself but, Edinburgh's New Town is beautiful. It just needs some restoration.

Wake up and smell the coffee.

The new St James center will be a game changer for that part of Edinburgh once it's done.

If Edinburgh gets rid of its shite Scotland themed shops, closed the road on princes street and turned into pubs and restaurants, we'd be laughing.

If you travel up this street in Edinburgh you can see how a bit of colour works, as you move up the hill.

Yeah but this is rather rare, on the first photo the top building are basically 90% of gllasgow.

I know, it was an argument that colour can be done to improve our buildings.

Glasgow is not as grey to be fair. Their stone is more red mixed with modern buildings. ;p

There is less of a contrast when gray weathers compared to other colors. If you live in a place with a lot of frost and wind a few coats of gray will last you a lot longer than most other colors imo. Gray since it is neutral also just looks cleaner over time, it's a great color for kitchens. Some warmer places to tan instead but tan doesn't work good up the mountains or places with tree litter mud (turns gray).
