Default Dutch social democrats trump populists, according to the polls.

It seems that the Dutch far-right has failed in the European Parliament elections.

The Labour party of European Commissioner Frans Timmermans on Thursday won a surprise victory in a Dutch election for European Parliament, an exit poll showed, easily beating a Eurosceptic challenger who had been topping the polls.

Geert Wilders’ anti-immigration PVV and the Socialist Party may lose all their representation in the European parliament, if a second exit poll, based on actual results, is accurate.

The Dutch do not seem to want to leave the European Union. The Nexit is over.

"Trump populists" ? The propaganda is strong here. Actually: traditionally very few people bother to vote in European elections because it is considered so distant to us. You will see our real vote in national elections and the PVV's seats went to the much more Eurosceptic Forum voor Democratie.

Wake up and smell the coffee.

Actually: traditionally very few people bother to vote in European elections because it is considered so distant to us and we have long since checked out because people feel that our vote doesn't matter. You will see our real vote in national elections and the PVV's seats went to the much more Eurosceptic Forum voor Democratie. These are the latest polls for the national parliament if elections are held today. And what do we see there ? The Eurosceptic Forum becomes the single biggest party.

IDK, you are probably right, but this European Parliament election is a good time to push the Nexit. It seems that the opposite has happened. It is clear that the Dutch are not as eurosceptics as the British.

Wrong. The Dutch are so eurosceptic that people don't vote in the EP "elections" anymore.. nor did they ever. The number of voters has always been around 35 percent or so. The European Union is, effectively, dead to us. When I went to vote the other day, I was pretty much the only one who was there as the whole station was empty except for the people behind the desk. Normally, I have to wait before I can get to a booth.

The British voters are still less. But the few British who vote, vote parties that support the Brexit. It's different in Holland: The Dutch vote mostly pro European parties, at least according to the polls.

I just told you that Dutch don't vote. The only ones who do vote usually vote for pro-Europe parties which skews the numbers so you can take your pro-Europe story and stuff it.

Your sources alone tell you what's what: the Forum for Democracy wasn't even in the EP. Now they come in with 3 seats minimum.

    Edited.

The Netherlands has bucked the trend in most of Europe by electing fewer Eurosceptics to the European parliament in this week’s elections.

New Dutch nationalist party Forum voor Democratie enters the European parliament for the first time with three seats. This is well below the four or five seats which opinion polls had suggested, based on the party’s strong performance in the March provincial elections.

It was a disappointing night for Geert Wilders’ anti European and anti-immigration party PVV whose support plunged from four seats in 2015 to zero this year.

    Nexit is over.
