I come from people who were on both sides, but I know when and where most of the potato leftist ideas of today came from. It probably could have been prevented from spreading all over the west in many different ways, but that's where we are now. Can't really blame people from the most recent 2 or 3 generations for being raised in this world.

Your logic is only valid for Western Europe and not everyone there is like that, so don't generalize. Degenerate culture always existed, the difference is that nowadays it's no more a taboo, people have more freedom to demonstrate such things.

You seem to see the things only by the negative side, and I don't think it was the best generation: everything used to be more precarious/primitive, people had few freedom, etc. Throughout the decades we had lots of advances in the scientific, technological and social fields, more freedom of speech and rights, etc, and that's why I prefer the modern age.

The scientifical and technological things are simply a matter of time passed, when I look on the scientific and technological breakthroughs in ww2 I also see a advantage there.

Also not sure what was primitive about a german man in 1940, he was more educated and cultivated than most modern German men, let aside his pride and honor.
