Wrong. Border between inner Austria and Lands of Crown of St. Stephen was clearly defined. They had different laws, rulers, universities, militarry units etc.

Croatian feudal Parliament was based in Zagreb since 12th century as I already mentioned, and mostly filled with Croatian nobility.

In Austria Hungary many Slovenians went to study in Zagreb until Ljubljana was given slavic/slovenian language University etc.

Hungary was almost on the same level with Austia only in period 1867-1918.

Before 1867 it was Austrian domination on Hungarians. Ferenc Rakoczi raised an uprising against Vienna in early 18th century, and Lajos Kossuth raised uprising against Vienna in 1848. Both attempts of separatism towards the Habsburgs were crushed. Why Hungarian were rebelled if they had same position in empire as Germans?

But lot of centuries passed before Habsburg Empire which happened only in 16th century!

On 23andme I get Slovenia as country of ancestry.
I am 1/16 Kajkavian Croat with ancestry from mining village Rude near Samobor and very close to Slovenian border.

Slovenian nation was formed in 19th century, before that they were just Slavs under German rule similary like Slovaks were under Hungarian. And that is why those 2 nations use general Slavic name.

Border of future Slovenian and Croatian lands was already defined in middle ages and did not change since than.

Serbs got confused because word KAJ ...well i was in slovenia and lived there like month and half they speak dijalect which is very different to Zagorski ... only prekmurcu are simmilar to zagorci

Also western and south western slovenian dijalect is tottally non inderstable for zagorski....also i have visited whole western slovenia , people there are looking very simmilar to germanic people westernish
