Have you checked to see if anyone of your matches is related to him? You look kinda Spaniard/Mestizo/French. Good genetics either way.

Both my parents were born in Mexico, but my father was born to a Spanish father and has family in Spain (that I have visited). His mother is a castiza IMO, I don't know her full background.

Have you uploaded your raw data to GEDmatch Genesis?

You also get 17% Italian and 18% Other Regions, maybe this could all be wrongly designated Spanish. Altogether it would make 46% then. These tests shouldn't be taken too literally.

Guerrero is very Amerindian. In 1921 census 44% of the population of Guerrero were Native Americans (and 54% Mestizos):

Your mother is probably close to 100% Native American rather than 50% European / 50% Native American as you expected.
