Question to non-English speakers: how'd you react if your government announced the following?

It would be great but I doubt that the Chinese government will do it.

It is not bad if English is co-official as long as it does not replace the original language of a country.

Because english is cool. But I wouldnt mind either ways. If it is or if it is not. It would definitely not upset me. I speak half of the day english already because Im half of my time online and when Im online I speak english watch movies or listen to music and all of that in english.

Most regular people are alot online nowadays even if they do other things because of phones and tablets you carry always with you and social media also wifi is in all public places mostly free

I wouldnt mind. I would like it. But it would suck for people who speak only a little english there are many such people. The Government would need to introduce compulsory english courses and provide courses for many people.

This is my opinion too. The process would be gradual if it happened so it wouldn't be that bad especially for the old people who have a hard time learning. There's so many redundant languages currently, but the way the world is working (internet/globalisation) language pruning is probably inevitable

While I agree with making English a de facto secondary official language, replacing our own with English, would create a firestorm up and down the country. I would be out in the street as well and I know how the people themselves would react: that government would be utterly destroyed in the next elections.
