"In late 19th-century geography, Greater India referred to British India, Hindustan (Northwestern Subcontinent) which included the Punjab, the Himalayas, and extended eastwards to Indochina (including Tibet and Burma), parts of Indonesia (namely, the Sunda Islands, Borneo and Celebes), and the Philippines."[20] German atlases distinguished Vorder-Indien (Anterior India) as the South Asian peninsula and Hinter-Indien as So"
makes sense, I have seen in lot of youtube comment sections as well, how Indians and Afghans gang up on Pakistan lol. Agree with Bollywood's widespread popularity too lol, Bollywood has really brought India lot of soft power.

Culturually maybe, not race wise though. I feel no racial connection even with northeast indians for example, let alone east asians.

I was specifically talking about culture, not physical features. I think east Asians have way more in common with South Asians than west Asians do. I don't know where this myth came that Indians and east Asians are somehow very different, they're not.

Its offensive not because of being associated with Indians, but the mere fact you are grouping the rich history of central Asia and Afghanistan which they shoukd be proud of, with somehting they are clearly not.
Afg should be part of the extended indosphere, not the core. And also, Iran should be part of the "areas influenced by indic thought".

I dont agree with this bro. Pashtuns other than some genetic influence from south asians dont share that much with us. They are iranic in terms of language, culture, dressing, dancing, food, etc. And pashtuns are the "closest" to south asians among afghans. Hazaras, tajiks, uzbeks, turkmens have almost nothing in common with south asians.

Don't they watch bollywood movies in afghanistan? Pashtuns were heavily involved in conquering South Asia. What "extended indosphere" probably means is that they have some deeper cultural influence that isn't immediately obvious similar to SE Asia. I think Afghanistan fits in well in that designation.
