    Default European matches on MyHeritage

I get almost no European matches on 23andme or Ancestry, but get a TON on MyHeritage. Obviously a ton from the English speaking countries.
Over 700 for the UK,94 from Ireland. 97 from Germany. And some other places in Europe. I even get a few low confidence matches from Russia!

I wonder if this could just be MyHeritage being less accurate

No. It's one of the few DNA tests that Euros have access to because it is not an American based company. It's also cheap so affordable. If an American wants to learn their true roots they need to test with this company.

I think the costumer base for both companies is still the US by a large margin so that will affect the results.

    23andme shows the same pattern:

And this also affects the regions people get on 23andme Ancestry Composition. Every portuguese member gets Azores first only because of the big number of Azoreans in the US.
So i think neither MyHeritage or 23andme provide a good distribution of relatives and no big conclusions can be made by looking at them.

But you are showing two different things. Myheritage shows the locations of your matches, while 23andme from your picture shows ancestor birthplaces that customers have specified themselves.

23andme has the "location of your dna relatives" on this link: https://you.23andme.com/reports/dna_family/

Thanks for the correction and link. The maps are very similar with the US clearly on top:

Most by lineage has been in America for a long time and I get plenty of foreign matches on the companies I have tested with. It kinda varies though. Those Scandinavian matches have to be like a hundred and hundreds of years away; pretty interesting.

The Netherlands and France is because I have a bunch of Flemish and Alastian German bred in fairly recently. I am also of Norman descent and we came from France to Britain.

A lot more Europeans test on MyHeritage and I also get a lot more European matches on MyHeritage than I do on 23&Me.

    My Heritage top matches.

On 23&Me I just get British & Irish and American matches.

On 23&Me I just get British & Irish and American matches.

This is what I like about it. I can see what ethnicities I really have ties to by looking at the matches and then asking them questions.
