When my man and I cuddle, he will squeeze me tight to him when we spoon and wrap around me. It is seriously the most comfortable feeling ever. The way he pulls me to him to make sure that every part of him is touching me is the nicest feeling in the world because I feel so secure, safe, and warm.

They say you literally go through physical oxytocin withdrawals when you're apart from the person you love. It's crazy how similar love is to drugs.

Love or any other hormone induced feeling is exactly same as drugs. Because drugs overstimulate our hormones be it dopamine or serotonin.

But I'm not sure if low oxytocin result in withdrawal. It sure results in increased cortisol since these two neutralize each other. Higher cortisol means stress and anxiety. That's why men have different reactions to lack of physical contact, some are more dependent on that extra oxytocin stimulation to keep cortisol low while others can handle stress in other ways and don't care much about cuddles.

Meanwhile all women dependent on cuddles, that's the only way for them to keep low cortisol. Hence the old cat lady phenomena, they use cats as substitute.
