This guy hasn't converted to Christianity but claims that the shroud is authentic and helped him find God, completely bizarre, the shroud being authentic has clear implications which would demand conversion to the Christian faith.

I'm pretty sure he has become a Christian in private ... he is just not too vocal about it for certain obvious reasons. As you say, it's not really possible to believe the Shroud is authetic, yet not become a Christian. The Shroud does not confirm Judaism at all.

Well, I hope he has converted in private, him being a Jew I can imagine he's afraid of being scrutinized and ostracized by other Jews for converting.
