I follow the Orthodox fasting periods (vegan - it forbids meat, dairy and eggs; on special days you are allowed to eat fish) which totals to about half a year:
- each Wednesday and Friday
- plus the 4 yearly fasting periods: 6 weeks until Christmas, 7 weeks until Easter, 1-to-3 weeks in June (St Peter and Paul) and 2 weeks in July (Virgin Mary)
every few months I do at least a week of keto / if I feel ok even vegan keto with intermittent fasting, to cleanse the body. it feels great. but it's not for longer periods I guess.
intermittent fasting I'm doing each month for at least a whole week, i.e. not eating 8pm today to 4pm tomorrow - I also don't feel hungry, since when I eat I eat nutrient food, not sugars and high carbs.
for the rest I eat normally, I like fats and barbecue. I think it's pretty balanced overall.
