Really, the claim that Poles were once considered non-white in the US is the most ridiculous yet from the revisionist history crowd. I'll also add that a famous Revolutionary War figure was Casimir Pulaski (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casimir_Pulaski), still celebrated here in Chicago. How will they reconcile that?

Are you aware of the fact, that within the same family, there could be people with and without those phenotypes? I don't think it is rare to find such a case even among siblings and let us consider this case as an example. By your definition, despite their exact same ancestry, some would be labeled as white, while the others would not. Isn't that a bit absurd?

Something along those lines for sure, but as I've pointed out earlier, there are problems with those straightforward definitions. As it would be absurd and counterintuitive for the term to be reserved only for 100% Europeans, we would have to include certain mixed individuals under that category aswell. But where should the line be drawn? And more importantly, the difference between in European ancestry between someone just below the line and someone just above can be totally insignificant. Setting a fixed boundary therefore isn't a good solution to this problem, but ethnic identity isn't some kind of fluent thing either - I am Europan, just that, I don't see my identity as a position on a scale. I would not trying to bother with precise definitions in this case and use some kind of 'I know it, when I see it' approach.
