I have no Polish ancestry so that won't apply to me as much as I'm fond of Poland. I hope it works out for them.

Some of them identify as "Austrian-Americans" I think (and they have to be added to that number). But generally I agree.
However, Austria has only several million people, less than 9 million in total.
Also - for example - most of Sudetendeutsche descendants live in Germany (especially in Bavaria) today - not in Austria.

Yes, but in 19th Century came to America a lot of German speaking people from Austrian Empire, it means not only from nowadys Austria but also from German speaking areas of nowadays Czech Repulblic, Italy (Southern Tirolia), and their descendents proclaims themeself as of German (not Austrian etc.) origin
