I always LOL at the labelling of MENA as white on the American census. Culturally they are complete enemies to white Europeans.

Even non-Muslim South Asians are far more likely to integrate into the “white” lifestyle than Muslims are in general. Just another proof that race and culture have nothing to do with each other.

They're really their own thing, but if I had to pick between either I'd honestly put them closer to South Asians IMO. The Iranics have influenced North India/Pakistan quite a bit, and this is even evident through linguistics and architecture/cothing. Farsi is an Indo-European language not a Semitic one.

Turks and Arabs on the other hand are connected to the Mediterranean Sea and have had more historical interaction with Europeans. Turks for example share many Balkan mannerisms and habits, likewise Levantines and Maghrebis also have a lot of phenotypical overlap with Southern Europeans. East of Mesopotamia there are no such familiarities. Persian culture I find is not as violent/aggressive in comparison and places a greater emphasis on education, which is similar to Desis. Semites in contrast tend to have this "macho" vibe/attitude.

With regards to geography, Iranian plateau is a different kind of desert compared to the Semitic one. Semitic one is extremely dry, FLAT, and has palm trees. Iranian plateau is more humid, has a bit more rainfall, and is mountainous. The sand texture is also slightly different.

All in all they appear pretty similar to the uneducated mind but once you study them deeper you realize how different they truly are.
