There is an opinion that this is a natural and necessary process; changing some elites to others is a kind of competition too.

I think that rather so - Civilization can survive a strictly limited number of revolutions (illegal changes of power and looting of national property). Perhaps one world revolution is enough to deliver a mortal blow to civilization.
In general, there are two development paths - either people build an ideal society and become "gods" themselves, or as a result of a revolution organized crime comes to power and people gradually roll back to the level of monkeys, destroying civilization. Then God intervenes in the matter from the outside (people who have not experienced degradation), rescues the remnants of the survivors (together with future revolutionaries) and everything starts all over again, before the next world revolution. Vicious circle.

I don't believe in a world revolution as not all countries suffer from the same afflicitions or are in the same stage of development or degeneration. I believe it can be local though: a Western Revolution.
