    Default BRITONS WUZ TROJANS

What does TA think about the ancient writings of Geoffrey of Monmouth about Brutus, son of Aeneas.. stating that he fled Troy after it's fall and sailed up the Atlantic coast picking up other Trojans after fleeing, on his way to the Isles, then naming them after himself, and establishing farming colonies, which formed the biggest part of the population of pre Saxon invasion?

I must say, the more time passes, the more this theory seems plausible in my eyes. The foundation of Britons being of the same foundation as the Basques and other Atlantic populations makes it even more interesting..

Honestly, I'm pretty skeptical of fantastical theories, but if you really dig deep into this one, you see a ton of connections, and DNA can't disprove any of it. Also helps that there was good reason to suppress this "truth" if it is, in the 1900's.

Good thread. This is something I'll read into; it's an intriguing theory.

The biggest population of Pre-Saxon settlers is Celts and Med/Atlantoid farmers. The I2 never really prospered until they came because the gene pool was so shallow. Most Native Britons like my ancestors were probably survivors of Doggerland and the rising sea levels. I think the British gene pool bottle necked into a hand full of individuals if I am not mistaken. A handful of survivors made it to the Isles the rest made it Denmark and spread out there. But we know pre-Greek pre-Roman meds made it all the way up to Scandinavia (hence my med/scand MTDNA). Similar people but very different culture. I doubt they would have been related to the Trojans though, more so Italians, Greeks, Iranians and North Africans.
Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.

Even if this were hard--that is how it is ! Assuredly, however, by far the harder fate is that which strikes the man who thinks he can overcome Nature, but in the last analysis only mocks her. Distress, misfortune, and diseases are her answer.

they weren't all med/atlantid, there was brunns, celtic nordids, and probably some subnordids in the south were Gaulish refugees after Caesar's invasion lived
