Anglo-Saxons like Celts were confederations of people, some were of distant Danish stock, some of Northern Germanic including Frisian and others were probably more central German. I would consider them Nordic, there wasn't a whole lot of differences. You also got a lot of cross breeding and populations that were native Danish that joined the Saxons. They were similar to the Scottish lowlands, very diverse and connected to everyone.

I always wondered why the term Anglo-Saxon is in use. Britain wouldn't be what it is today if it wasn't for the Normans and their conquest changing Britain forever politically, culturally and linguistically let alone their thirst for world domination. Thanks to them english is spoken all over the world as well.

In a historical context, i.e. the actual Angles and Saxons, yes. As far as the people called Anglo-Saxons today, i.e. the English and their descendants in the Anglosphere, I consider them Germano-Celtic and definitely distinct from the Germanic peoples.

Yea some Germanic people have more or less this and that admixture wise, but when you get down to it, there isn't a terrible difference especially if you are talking Northern German/Frisian for which some populations had alliances and co-existed with the Scandinavians, the lines become very blurry.

no, Anglo Saxons are 40-60% Celtic genetically and English is only about half Germanic. Even if we're talking about the old Anglo-Saxons arriving on the shores of Kent and east Anglia, then still no, because Germanic is an over arching category, in the same way Irish doesn't mean Celtic. Also they're only between 0-10% dane/norseman on average
