    Default Night Attack at Târgoviște

    On this day, June 17th 1462, having refused to pay "jizya" and impaling 23,000 Turkish soldiers, Prince Vlad the Impaler launched a night attack at Târgoviște, killing 15,000 Turks forcing Mehmed II to retreat from Wallachia.
