New slanderous publication in US media
20 September 2019 - 15:54
Spoiler!
On September 16, YahooNews published the material, “Exclusive: Russia carried out a 'stunning' breach of FBI communications system, escalating the spy game on US soil.” The writer cites US counterintelligence officers who, on condition of anonymity, talked about Russia’s alleged aggressive intelligence activity in the United States.
Typically, the article was fabricated on the basis of testimony of unidentified sources that cite classified intelligence, which cannot be verified a priori. Moreover, these new unfounded accusations against diplomats and members of their families pose a direct threat to their safety. We are deeply concerned that such inflammatory publications may lead to acts of violence against Embassy staff and their families.
We are compelled to note the chronic inability of the United States to ensure normal working conditions for the Russian diplomatic mission. Washington ceased to abide by the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations in its treatment of other countries’ official representatives. We consider this publication a clumsy attempt at justifying the seizure of Russian diplomatic property with spy mania rhetoric. As a reminder, initially the administration cited Russia’s “interference in elections” as public rationale for its actions. In an effort to disguise this theory’s collapse, those seeking continued tensions in US-Russian relations, ventured to publish these new groundless accusations.
The conclusions made in the article about the potential Russian interference in the US elections in 2020 prove that this media provocation was planted with the purpose of spurring Russophobic sentiments in America. This is yet another attempt by the American establishment to “play the Russian card” in the pre-election period.

The anti-Russian agenda promoted in the Australian media
7 October 2019 - 16:26
Spoiler!
On September 16, 2019, the Australian newspaper Sidney Morning Herald published an article by Chris Zappone under the title “Russian propaganda 'very likely' stoking 5G health fears in Australia: expert claims.” In this article, the digital foreign editor quotes another expert as saying that Russia’s broadcaster RT (formerly known as Russia Today) and other alternative media websites are likely behind the uptick in 5G phobia in Australia.
Indicatively, the newspaper did not mention a single fact to support its allegations. The notorious “highly likely” sounds like a refrain in Sidney’s fake. It remains the only argument of Western propaganda.
We can only describe it as a deliberate attempt to manipulate public opinion with a view to intimidating Australians with the alleged “Russian threat.”
Characteristically, in criticising their Russian colleagues (RT), the Australian newspaper quotes the opinion of the East StratCom Task Force published on the EUvsDisinfo website launched at Latvia’s initiative. This website has been repeatedly exposed of disinformation and dissemination of fakes on the order of anti-Russian circles in a number of EU countries. Quoting a politically motivated source without publishing the opponent’s counter arguments is a gross violation of the fundamental principles of journalism.
We consider the assertions made in this article to be groundless and slanderous. We regret that a respectable Australian newspaper has become an instrument for fanning Russophobic attitudes in society.

Le Monde’s fake publication
7 October 2019 - 17:17
Spoiler!
On September 8, 2019, the French newspaper Le Monde published an article entitled, “Putin places his bets on Algerian generals.” It claims that Russian leaders ostensibly hoped that the public protests in Algeria last February would be suppressed by influential Algerian generals. Russia’s inclination to support high-ranking Algerian military officials is explained by the fact that many of them studied at “Soviet academies.” As for the allegation of “a solution by force,” this is not supported by any argument at all.
We consider Le Monde’s insinuations to be a classic example of disinformation designed to misrepresent Russia during the current complicated transfer of power in Algeria in line with its valid constitutional mechanisms. We have to state that this publication is part of a propaganda campaign launched by a number of Western media in connection with the approaching presidential election in the country. This campaign is designed to intimidate people with alleged ongoing “Russian interference.”
We have declared Russia’s position of principle many times: any political processes in Algeria are exclusively Algeria’s domestic affair. We are not placing any bets on any forces and will not do this in the future. We hope friendly Algeria will continue to resolve the arising problems in a constructive and responsible manner via national dialogue. We hope this dialogue will be clearly aimed at ensuring stability and creating favourable conditions for a steady advance on the road of political and socio-economic change for the benefit of all Algerian people.
In this context, by playing the anti-Russia card, dishonest journalists are obviously trying to damage a multifaceted Russia-Algeria partnership with a view to influencing the mood of the voters or derive other dubious political dividends.
We would like to tell Le Monde and all other biased media regardless of their location that groundless anti-Russia rhetoric is a graphic example of professional dishonesty.
