Thanks for the updated map. I will choose SW European then.

I respect all NE European countries and their cultures, but I find that I don't really feel any affinity with any of them, aside from Finland (which is culturally very NW European anyway imo) - although I would vastly prefer the NE European climate, and genetically some countries are arguably closer to us. However, Switzerland is my favourite non-NW Euro country in the entire continent, I've been to France and Spain many times (nearly 40, between them) and have never had an unpleasant stay in either country; and I have only been to Portugal and Italy once each but both countries have a lot to like about them, and finally, Iberian cuisine is my absolute favourite in the world.

edit: I see you edited the map to make Switzerland NW Euro rather than SW Euro (either that or I'm hallucinating and seeing things), but I will still keep my decision the same.

Northeast, maybe? Poland, the Baltic states, Finland and Czechia mostly, though outside of their boundries, I can't say I relate much to what's left.

Then, there's the Southwest; Portugal being my favorite country there(seafaring culture, coherent English speakers, most cool headed of the Romance people, fond of salted cod and all that), the Kraut chunk of Switzerland, I guess. I mean, the rest of these countries are massive and densely populated so some bits of France(Basque country, Brittany, I like what Normandy does with cow stomachs and what's left of Flemish country in Lille or near it), without Andalusia and Valencia; Spain will just feel like a drier France and as for Italy; everyone can more or less claim a spiritual link to as it kind of feel like the heart of Europe as well as the Mediterranean.

Southeast? I don't know much about the Blakans; I have a real soft spot for Serbs, got on well with Croats and would really like to see Croatia, Greece's really nice I'm probably the only man I know outside its boundries that liked the taste of Retsina.

Can't say I know who to pick since some countries I relate to more than others and know or relate to very little with their neighbors.

You should vote under NE (if you feel Hungarian) or NW (if you feel German), since inclusion of central europe in this research is nonsensical.

Yep, sorry! I wanted to paint it NW from a start, mostly because German language and people are most numerous there. But it can be considered SW too.
Basically, other then geography I went with this: Germanic languages NW Europe, Romance languages SW Europe.

You are half Serb, for other NW Europeans SE is most alien part of continent.
