I wonder what their admixtures were, this was like Hittite era, pretty ancient. Seems like maybe two different factions of the same people.

Horses were already in use by Western Europeans by then and horse archery has popular among everyone in the bronze age, thats how the chariot developed as a more stable platform to skirmish on horseback.

The ones in horseback were Balto-Slavs. Germanics had abandoned steppe horse-riding for naval warfare by the time of Tollense, this is why they fought on foot with battle axes and German clubs in this battle.

Germanics, maybe. But Slavs ? Those wouldn't appear in Europe until over a millennium later (and, yes, this is AD - the battle must have been around 1250 BC):

Those wooden clubs(poor man's weapon) were still in use against the Roman legions. the Balto-Slavs could've destroyed Rome if they wanted to. Probably too lazy or drunk on wodka all day.
