Opinions on Orthodox Albanians of North Macedonia?

It is a bad thing for the albanians, lest the maks start to appropriate some of the culture wich usually happens with assimilation. I mean look at some maks in Lerin,theyve prottected their language yet most are scared to speak it out of historical reasons, would it be such a bad thing if they got assimilated? See what i mean? As for Mijaks no. They seem to be proud maks regardless if they have partial albanian ancestry or even influence, howver i have noticed that Georgi Pulevskis hat is white,and i know mijaks usually have black kacketas and albanians in this region have white roundish "plis"if you will
Any ideas what this hat could be?Disclaimer Im not saying hes albanian btw just honeskty curious

His hat doesn't look like an Albanian Plis despite the white colour. The Plis is more rounded. Looks more like a white Fes. I believe Goce Delcev was known to wear one too.

Albanians in Macedonia wear both hats as far as i know and some ghegs and kosovars do too

I admire them although what helped for the Albanian people and language be preserved was that they switched to Catholic and Muslim faith.

Had they remained Orthodox, the majority of the Albanians today would have been absorbed by the Greeks and the Serbs, much what happened to Macedonians as many had been absorbed by the Bulgarians and the Greeks.

So you can look on it as a pact with the Devil but a necessary one in order for the Albanian nation to survive.

Well arvanites are basically assimilated nowadays, and yeah some of greeces most famous liberators came from their comunity, they even hate being called Shqiptar, however the orthodox chams in epirus and west macedonia still called themsleves "skiptar" granted this is only the older folks

Both orthodox and catholics were always the most nationalistic, event centuries ago, the most prominent writers and poets were one of the two. Nationalistic in the sense of stressing the Albanian unity.

I prefer christian albanians over muslim ones. Islam and communism has ruined this country.
